What to Bring
Guidance for guests joining us for an evening of historical dining at Lanevora Supper House.
Preparing for Your Visit
Lanevora Supper House occupies a unique position between restaurant and private home. As we welcome you into our historical space for an intimate dining experience, we offer these guidelines to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable evening for all guests.
Our aim is to create an atmosphere that honors the historical context of the cuisine while maintaining a relaxed conviviality. The following information will help you prepare for your visit and understand what to expect from an evening at Lanevora.
Attire and Presentation
Dress Suggestions
While we maintain no formal dress code, most guests choose to embrace the special nature of the evening with smart or smart-casual attire. Gentlemen typically opt for a jacket (though ties are entirely optional), and ladies equivalently. The atmosphere is one of relaxed elegance rather than formality.
Comfort Considerations
Our historical building maintains traditional features, including original fireplaces that provide heating during colder months. The dining room temperature can vary slightly throughout the evening as we balance authentic atmosphere with guest comfort. Layering is advisable during winter evenings.
Footwear Notes
The townhouse features original wooden flooring and period-appropriate rugs. We recommend comfortable shoes with non-marking soles. Ladies may wish to avoid particularly high heels, as some areas have original floorboards with characteristic historical unevenness.
Dietary Considerations
Communicating Requirements
While our menus celebrate historical British cuisine, we understand the importance of accommodating contemporary dietary needs. Please inform us of any allergies, intolerances, or dietary requirements at the time of booking through our reservation form.
Our Approach to Adaptations
With advance notice, we can adapt many historical dishes to accommodate vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and other common dietary needs. Some specialized restrictions may be more challenging due to the nature of historical cookery, but we always strive to provide an equivalent experience for all guests.
External Food
As we create a carefully curated historical dining experience, we ask that guests refrain from bringing outside food or beverages. For medical necessities or infant requirements, please contact us in advance to discuss appropriate arrangements.
What You May Bring
Gift Experiences
Gift Certificates
Lanevora experiences make memorable gifts for those with an appreciation for food history, British cuisine, or unique dining adventures. Gift certificates are available for full evenings or specific seasonal events.
To arrange a gift certificate, please contact us directly with details of the recipient and any special messages you would like included. We create elegantly designed physical certificates presented in archival-quality envelopes, suitable for gifting on special occasions.
Private Events
For truly special occasions, consider arranging an exclusive private booking of Lanevora. These bespoke evenings can accommodate up to eight guests and feature customized historical menus focusing on specific periods, regions, or themes according to your interests.
Private bookings require advance planning and a detailed consultation to create your ideal historical dining experience. Please contact us to discuss availability and arrangements.
Practical Information
Timing
We welcome guests from 7:30pm for aperitifs, with dinner commencing promptly at 8pm. The full experience typically concludes around 11pm. We appreciate punctuality, as the communal nature of the evening means that timing is synchronized for all guests.
Transportation
Our Covent Garden location is well-served by public transport. We recommend using Underground services to Covent Garden (Piccadilly Line) or Leicester Square (Northern and Piccadilly Lines), both within 5 minutes' walk. Limited paid parking is available nearby at Parker Street Car Park.
Payment
Your booking requires a 50% deposit, with the balance payable on the evening. We accept all major credit cards, though many guests prefer to settle final payments in cash. Any additional charges (such as corkage fees or supplementary items) are payable on the night.
Accessibility
As a historical building, our townhouse presents certain accessibility challenges. The dining room is located on the first floor with stair access only. Please contact us directly to discuss specific accessibility needs so we can provide appropriate guidance and assistance.
